Let No Man Deceive You
By Rusty Wilson
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
In the world today, it seems there is more deception going on than there has ever been, but as we come to understand there has been deception ever since the Garden of Eden as we read in Genesis 3, but we don’t have to be deceived.
We have a helper, a teacher Who has been sent unto us by Jesus from God our Heavenly Father (John 15:26), our helper and teacher is the Holy Spirit, Who is the Spirit of truth Who will guide us into all truth, …He will not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you (us) things to come (John 16:13).
If someone comes to us to deceive us (to delude: to impose on; to lead from the truth or into error), we have to make sure to have our guard up and not receive what they have to say, because the Holy Spirit will minister to us that the person is speaking deceptive words to us. We don’t have to receive what they say, and we must not receive it, whether we know them or not. The devil uses others to try to deceive us whether or not they are aware that they are being used.
Let’s continue to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit to know whether someone has been sent from the enemy to try to deceive us or not and draw us away from the truth of God’s Word. Let’s keep our stand on the Word of God.
