Keep Looking Forward
By Rusty Wilson

Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
Proverbs 4:25

It’s important to keep our eyes on God’s Word and keep our focus on His purpose for our life. It’s important that we don’t look back at the past and keep our focus there. The past is gone, it’s important that we don’t focus on it, but focus on what God has in store for us.

You may say that you’re not sure or you don’t know what God’s plan is for your life. It’s important to do as Matthew 6:33 says, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;… It’s important to pray and ask God and get into His Word, seeking Him and His Word so He can reveal to you the purpose and plans He has in store for you.

When the Holy Spirit starts ministering to you what He has in store for you and what direction He has for you to go, keep your focus straight forward on Him and His Word and continue to attend to His Word (Proverbs 4:20). He will guide and direct you. Be cautious, because Satan will come and try to steal the Word sown into your heart, but don’t let him do it. Guard your heart and keep looking forward and keep your eyes on the Word of God.

As we keep our eyes on God’s Word, the Holy Spirit will help us keep focused and keep looking forward, straight on to what God has in store for us, as the Amplified Bible says in Ephesians 2:10, …that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time],…

Let’s be encouraged to keep looking forward, keeping our eyes on God and His Word: keeping focused and meditating on His Word.
