Continuing In God’s Word!
By Rusty Wilson

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:31-32

We are taught in the teachings of Jesus that if we continue in His Word, we are His disciples indeed. One definition of a disciple is a learner. When we learn, we learn to trust Jesus and His Word, then we can be open to be led by the Holy Spirit and teach others. When we learn the Word that Jesus taught, we learn the truth and the truth when we receive it, makes us free.

As we continue in Jesus’ Word, which is God’s Word; we continue to be built up in His Word and have a foundation based on His Word. Our foundation that is built on the Word of God, is built on the truth and the truth can’t be shaken.

As we continue to keep His teachings and doing what He said to do in His Word, we will bear much fruit. One major part of bearing much fruit is to love one another (John 13:34) and as we love one another, then will all men know that we are Jesus’ disciples (John 13:35). As we love one another, we are continuing in God’s Word.

Let’s focus on what Jesus said and continue in His Word and love one another and be an example to others.
