Who Are We Using Our Gifts For?
By Rusty Wilson
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
We all have gifts that have been given to us by our Heavenly Father. As we use our gifts, the question is, who are we using our gifts for?
You may ask, what do I mean? If you have a gift of playing instruments, who are you playing for? If you have a gift of singing, who are you singing for? It’s important to know who you are using your gifts for. You may say, I am using my gifts for God of course. I truly hope so and believe you are as you say you are.
The problem is, sometimes we can get so caught up in using our gifts, we may actually be using our gifts for ourselves and maybe get into a competition with others with the same type of gift or similar gift.
We must make sure when we are using our God given gifts that we use them unto Him and not ourselves or any other person. We are to use them to minister to others and not to try to impress others. We need to use our gifts to complete the task God has given to us and do it heartily as to Him and not to man.
Let’s make it a focus to make sure we use our gifts unto the Lord and not in any other way and as we do, we will be BLESSED!
