Working The Word!
By Rusty Wilson

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11

In the previous Encouraging Word Devotion titled It’s Not Working For You?, we read that the problem that people have is not that the bible doesn’t work for them, it’s that they aren’t working the Word (the bible).

When we work the Word by reading it, believing it and speaking it, we are speaking God’s Words and Isaiah 55:11 tells us that, His Word that goes forth out of His mouth will not return to Him void, but it will accomplish that which He pleases, and it will prosper in the thing which He sends it. It will be accomplished, and it will prosper.

We have to work His Word by applying it by confession and doing what His Word says (James 1:22). We aren’t only to be a doer of the Word but, also a doer of His work (James 1:25). We read God’s Word, hear His Word and do it, working His Word by applying it with our confession by faith and continue to do it until the manifestation of His Word takes place and continue to do it.

We’re not supposed to stop doing His Word when we receive the manifestation, we got to keep doing it and working it. It’s a continuous work.

God’s Word isn’t going to manifest if we just open up His Word (our bible) read a scripture or two and close it and do nothing with what we read. We’ve got to apply what we read and believe and expect it to come to pass in our behalf and continue to stand on the Word of God and speak it into manifestation, because when we do, Jeremiah 1:12 tells us that He watches over His Word to perform it. Again, we have to read it, believe it and speak it by faith and God will watch over it to perform it.

One of the exciting parts of it is, He wants to perform His Word for us and all for His glory. We just have to do our part. Let’s do it, let’s work the Word.
