Forgiveness: The Will Of God!
By Rusty Wilson
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
How do you forgive someone who hurt you? With the Love of God. The Holy Spirit sheds God’s Love abroad into our hearts and it’s up to us as the vessels of God to allow the Holy Spirit to fill us up with His Love. There are times that we may have to ask the Lord to help us love someone so we can forgive them if they have wronged us or even if we think they wronged us. It’s extremely important to forgive. It is the will of God!
Unforgiveness will hinder our prayer life as Mark 11:25 says, And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Vs. 26 tells us if we do not forgive, neither will our heavenly Father forgive us our trespasses.
Forgiveness is a choice we have to make and if we feel we are having trouble when we want to forgive, we need to check our love level. If it seems a little low, we can ask God to fill us with His love and to help us love that person. A reminder what Philippians 4:13 says, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Forgiveness is a choice. Let’s make sure we continue to make the choice to forgive today, for it is the will of God!
