Forgiveness: No Corrupt Communication
By Rusty Wilson

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Ephesians 4:29

When a person gets upset, gets mad and or in a argument with someone there is an opportunity for an open door for corrupt words or communication. Corrupt in the Greek is rotten, worthless (literally or morally): bad, corrupt. The words we speak are spirit and they can either help us or hurt us. Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

We need to be cautious of what we say. The statement “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”. There needs to be an understanding that words can kill. That’s why we have Isaiah 54:17 to stand on. It says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord”.

No weapon, no tongue can harm you as you stand on the Word of God. Every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. You have the right as a child of God to stop the words spoken against you. The words spoken against you shall have no effect on you, unless you allow them to.

There maybe people that may not want to forgive you and say things about you, but leave that between them and God and continue to stay in forgiveness. Let’s continue to walk in forgiveness by walking in the Love of God. Let our words that we speak be words of Love and Peace, that they will be words which are good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
