There Is No Excuse For Unforgiveness
By Rusty Wilson
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
As the body of Christ, there is no excuse for unforgiveness. We have the Love of God in us and with His Love, we can forgive one another. Sometimes we might have to ask the Holy Spirit to help us Love someone, but we are able. Loving others and forgiving them is a choice we ourselves have to make.
Jesus is our example of Love as He was betrayed, beaten and nailed to the cross. He still Loved them and forgave them for what they did to Him and as He hung on the cross He said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34). He Loved them and forgave them for He knew the GREATER reward was to come. Jesus is our GREATEST example. As Jesus forgave, we can forgive. It’s a spiritual law.
Someone may have done you wrong, but with God’s Love in you, you can Love them and forgive them. You can use this confession: “I Love them and I forgive them”. You may still have hard feelings, but you can continue to confess that you Love them and you forgive them and allow the Holy Spirit to work in you, strengthening the Love of God in you. You can Love and forgive the person that wronged you and act as if they had never done anything against you.
Let’s remember to forgive others their trespasses and our Heavenly Father will forgive us our trespasses.
