The Joy Of The Lord!
By Rusty Wilson
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
We can know when we wake up each and everyday that the day is the day that the Lord has made and we can be excited and rejoice and be glad and not be sad. We don’t have to be concerned or depressed about the economy, because God is our source. The Amplified version says in the later part of verse 10, …And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold. One definition for stronghold is a place of security.
Having a relationship with God and trusting in Him, we know that we have His joy and the joy of the Lord is our strength. No matter what is happening around us we can have joy in any situation and be strengthened for the joy of the Lord is our strength.
We can rejoice, because our Heavenly Father is the supplier of all our need (Philippians 4:19). We can laugh, we can be happy for the joy of the Lord is ours and we can access the joy anytime.
We can be joyful and rejoice for God is our protector, our fortified place, our defense, our fortress, our rock and our strength. You don’t have to feel grieved or depressed, because the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)
It’s up to us as the body of Christ to be joyful and rejoice. We can be excited for God is with us and He is still working in our behalf. So instead of being grieved, depressed and down and out, we can be joyful for the joy of the Lord is our strength.
