Have Faith In God!
By Rusty Wilson
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
In this verse Jesus is telling His disciples to have faith in God. The previous verses (13-14) we see of what Jesus said to the fig tree due to it not producing figs like it should have from it’s appearance afar off having leaves and when He came to it finding only leaves and no figs (being false) verse 14 says, “And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it”.
The next day they passed by and seen the fig tree dried up, (Verse 20).
Verse 21, “And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away”. Jesus told them to have faith in God (verse 22). When you have faith in God, you don’t have to be surprised when you speak forth the Word that God tells you to speak, it’s going to take place.
Verse 23, Jesus says, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”. When you speak to the mountain that is in front you, which can be anything that is hindering you in your relationship with God and keeping you from fulfilling and receiving all that God has in store for you to do and to receive. Anything that appears to be productive and ends up being false, non productive keeping you from producing fruit and being fruitful. When you speak by faith unto the mountain to be removed and cast into the sea and doubt not, it shall be done.
In verse 24, Jesus says, “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”. What you desire when you pray (according to the will of God, which is the Word of God) believe (have faith) that you receive it and you can be confident that you will receive it. Remember Hebrews 11:6 tells us, without faith it is impossible to please Him. We definitely know that faith is the primary key to receive what God has in store for us.
