Checking Our Belief
By Rusty Wilson
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
A question to ask ourself is, does my belief in God and His Word get me excited? When I think of God and His Word, do I get excited and feel the joy and peace that He Has given me? When we think of God during the day and think of His many blessings He has given to us, we should let our joy rise up and have a smile on our face and be excited.
As I read Romans 15:13, it got my attention, and caused me to think of how my believing (faith) is. I’m reminded of a recent ceiling fan that I installed which was my first one I have installed. After following the instructions and the installation of the fan and seen that it operated correctly, I was excited and happy that I was able to complete the installation due to my only concern of dealing with the electric, but after taking the precaution of turning off the power to the power supply, I was excited that getting past the concern I completed the installation.
I had to question myself if I got this excited about the things of God and His Word. Like gaining the confidence with the installation of the fan, does my confidence of believing God for what He has in store for me. This message is an encouragement for us all to check our belief, our faith in God and make sure that we have the confidence in God our Heavenly Father and His Word and receive the joy and peace He has given to us and be excited about what He has in store for us to do and be confident we are able with the leading of the Holy Spirit to accomplish it.
